The Library
A place to read, study and relax, at the centre of school life.
For many pupils, the Library is the centre of the school: a place to read, study and relax outside their timetabled lessons.
The Library supports and enhances the curriculum, and promotes independent learning, reading for pleasure, critical thinking and information literacy. Collections span fiction and non-fiction for every age, from picture books for our youngest learners to subject reference and wider-reading titles that stretch our Sixth Formers. Resources are chosen with these goals in mind, and pupils are encouraged to request new titles.
Alongside books, pupils have access to computers and online resources, with digital tools that help them find, question and use information well. It is a calm, welcoming space in which boarders and day pupils alike can complete their prep, research their subjects and work quietly on their own.
The Library is more than a room full of books. It is where reading is celebrated, where good study habits are formed, and where a genuine culture of enquiry takes root and grows with every pupil.
